SVILU Spring 2013

Posted by on

After both working under the tutelage of Peter Som, designers Britt Cosgrove and Marina Polo have launched their own environmentally sustainable collection . . . and trust us, it’s good. SVILU features clean, twisted classic silhouettes and is produced locally in NYC with fabrics such organic cotton, tencel, modal, and cupro. We can’t wait to see more from these two talented ladies.

Everything in that collection looks so comfortable and wear-able! I also love how it’s a very colorful collection but the colors are somewhat muted – not as IN YO FACe as other colorful collections.

That’s unbelievable! the original idea of the shoes is from Menorca, a little mediterranean island, where they were made by farmers because they are very resistent. We call them “avarques” and nowadays we use them a lot but I could never believe I would see them in a NYC collection and on this blog!!!! Anyway, I’m feeling so proud of it and congratulations for this webside, I really enjoy it!
Here you guys have a link where you can check one of my favorite “avarques” store http://www.avarcacastell.com/castell_V1/inici.action

A big hug from Menorca!!! :)
