Mara Hoffman S/S 2012

Posted by on

The moment we walked into Mara Hoffman‘s Mara Mexicana presentation last week, our hearts literally skipped a beat. It honestly doesn’t get any better than custom prints inspired by Otomi embroidery and huipils, knitted Mexican serapes separates, silk crepe fabrics with neon embroidery, and colorful rope jewelry by Holst & Lee. Throw in some live music by a mariachi band and we’re sold. Now, all we’re waiting for is a home line by the master of prints. Mara, are you listening?

I am half mexican and there is something to be said about the beautiful prints and intricate embroidery (particularly of the region of Oaxaca).

And I have been wearing custom-made huipiles (courtesy of my mother’s closet) all summer here in London. They are just so magical.

I’ll go check out the full presentation. Thanks for the heads up!

The vivid colours and bold prints in this collection are utterly insane! I am loving every single piece — she just gets better every year. Her accessories are to die for! This woman just has an eye for incredible detail. Fabulous!
