Honestly WTF

Diane von Furstenberg S/S 2012

Posted by on

Drawing inspiration from Senegalese textiles, Finnish Marikmekko prints, and Japanese kimonos, Diane von Furstenburg was all about conveying exuberance, optimism, and new beginnings in her Spring collection. The color combinations were beyond uplifting and fresh: bright pastels mixed with muted grays and rusts; high octane reds, blues and greens mixed with aubergine and stark whites. It’s no wonder the show ended with Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” . . .

DVF is outstanding! Also, thanks for mentioning Marimekko- they’re such a great fabric designer but are hardly noticed in the fashion world. Thanks for the cool post! Also check out DVF’s style.com video- very cool!

One of my fav collections so far …
The vintage inspired color combinations, patterns, hair (!), sunnies (!!!) and styling but with some great modern shapes.
And of course, I’m a sucker for Marimekko…
    Great post!
