Delpozo Fall 2013

Posted by on

Madrid-based label Delpozo made it’s New York Fashion Week debut over the weekend with an utterly impressive couture-like collection. Recently appointed creative director Josep Font combined organic architecture and the femininity of the Victorian era into futuristic yet elegant dresses, waist defining skirts with scalloped pleats, embellished wool tunics and pants, and delicate chiffon gowns. And of course, the unexpected color combinations made it all that much more delightful. I mean, burgundy and salmon? Swoon.

I’m increasingly impressed with the design talents coming from Spain. We will soon stock a wonderful accessories label from Barcelona in our store, and more generally I see a lot more of spanish brands being represented at international tradeshows.

This is my favorite collection I’ve seen so far. The structure is so interesting, but what knocks it out of the park for me are the color combinations. Very fresh.

Truly lovely collection. Sadly, this is the kind of fashion most men find so unattractive on women.

I don’t like the silhouettes at all. Not a very wearable collection. High fashion yes, but practical and adaptable to daily wear, definitely not.

The hair and makeup is amazing.

However, when a girl’s knees are wider than the girth of her thighs I think we can safely say that that girl is DANGEROUSLY ANOREXIC. Woefully irresponsible casting. Fix up, whoever the casting director who worked on this is.
