Best Of LFW Spring 2016

Our favorite collections from London could only be highlighted by three words: volume, cropped, femininity. Ok, four. Pink.

Emilia Wickstead: Emilia Wickstead’s muse this season may have been the 1950s female but her collection wasn’t without undone elegance and a sporty edge – a riff that modern women can certainly appreciate. I loved how ties hung loosely off tea dresses and how sleeves were exaggerated with volume. And a dreamy color palette of bubble gum pink, mustard, cream and floral kitsch made it all that much more covetable.

Temperley London: If there’s one thing that can mentally yank us out of these first few blissful days of fall, it would be a single, beautiful embroidered dress. Alice Temperley gave us, like, 27. She has us wishing for hot, summer temperatures again with her collection of colorful, embroidered dresses – some embellished with fine needlepoint and some with sequins and tassels. Holiday to Cuba, anyone?

Roksanda: There was something very calm and fluid about Roksanda Ilincic’s silouettes this season. Jigsaw shapes were cut out of languid dresses, dramatic ruffles cascaded down one side of trousers, and comfortable volume was added strapless jumpsuits. And of course, there was what Roksanda does best: an oh so pretty colorblocked palette of pale blue, orange, yellow, sand and blush.

A.L.C.Some of my favorite pieces in my closet are A.L.C. Perhaps it’s because Andrea Lieberman has a knack for keeping practicality and wearability a consideration when designing – and not taking her inspirations too literally. This season, henna-like prints, tie-dye in colors of the desert, metal studs and dark suede stemmed from Berber textiles and one of Andrea’s favorite decades, the 70s. So good.

Mother Of PearlCan I move into Amy Powney’s modern day little house on the prairie? And wear printed smocked gowns (depicting lobsters carrying combs!), bonded leather jackets, ruffle collared blouses and gingham pinafore dresses? Yes? Thanks.

    Temperley London is just delightful.
It’s crazy to think that the FWs are flying past when I still haven’t really viewed much from the London runways….

I like the outfits from Temperley London, the blue dress may not be for the mainstream, as well as the roman sandals, the turquoise is stunning with lots of details.
