If there is one question I most frequently get asked, it’s how I manage to find that work-life balance, especially with a toddler and a baby on the way. Running your own business while making enough time to travel, spend quality time with family and entertain friends can be challenging and seemingly impossible at times. But for me, it’s really all about being spontaneous and relinquishing that need for perfection – especially when it comes to the “life” part. For someone who recognizes her type A qualities, this has been a valuable lesson that I’m still getting accustomed to! Throwing a mid-week dinner party, for example, means taking advantage of what’s most accessible, making it easy and stress free for yourself. A friend who has volunteered to make cocktails? Yes. Olive trimmings from your trees and fresh lemons from your neighbor’s garden? Done. Store bought roast chicken and Bertolli‘s time saving skillet pasta meals to compliment a hearty, homemade salad? A life saver. All that is really left to do is set the table. Easy. This is how I find balance and why I love and live to entertain.
