I have a newfound fascination with vintage ships and have been on the lookout for one at flea markets and thrift stores. A pirate ship or sailboat . . . either will do. But honestly, the larger the better, right?

Yeah but the small ones are pretty cute too 😀

We have a 6ft tall sailboat that sits in a huge arched window over our front door. I am amazed how many people I meet walking in the neighborhood who say “O! You live in the sailboat house!” Yes, bigger is better.
I have a friend who makes the most amazing sailboats from vintage sails and wood….her Facebook here, to contact her: https://www.facebook.com/anne.macdonald.142?fref=ts
There are pictures on FB of her work. 🙂
Use the search term “pond boats” and you’ll get some nice returns. It is a great hobby some really skilled craftspeople participate in. Maybe you’ll even start sailing (on the small scale).
Ella, Thank you so much for that tip. I had no idea they were called pond boats.
Nice inspiration.

Beautiful!
Um… is that a portrait of Eva Peron?
It is. Good eye. That photo is from an Elle Decor story on Nanette Lepore’s home decorated by Jonathan Adler. That painting is a flea market find!!
Lovely inspo!

How may I send you a picture of a pirate ship I built?
I’m a huge lover of boats and own one myself, but don’t have any models in the house. After seeing these, now I want one!! The boat chandelier is super impressive.
Wow it looks great!
