I can't tell you how excited I was to discover these candy-like enamel tube beads. Not only are they vibrant and colorful, the metal and coats of enamel makes them feel wonderfully luxurious and weighty. This necklace has already been in heavy rotation since I made it a couple weeks ago. I love it and hope you do too!
You'll Need:
- enamel Heishi beads, 2mm & 4mm
- 25" of coated stainless steel beading wire
- an S-hook clasp
- 2 crimp beads
- 2 gold filled wire guardians
- crimp tool or flat nose pliers
- wire clippers or small, sharp scissors
- OR DIY Enamel Disc Necklace Kit
Start by threading the beading wire through a crimp bead. Then thread the wire trough one side of the wire guardian and back down the other side. Wire guardians basically protect the wire from snapping while wearing the necklace. Since the enamel beads are pretty heavy, the guardian will prevent the clasp from rubbing against the beading wire.
Slide one one part of the S-hook clasp. Pull the wire tight and flush against the top of the wire guardian. Push the crimp bead against the base of the wire guardian and use the bottom part of the crimp tool to crimp the tube.
After you've created the initial crimp, use top chamber of the crimp tool to fold that crimp in half. If you don't have a crimp tool, you can use a pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the crimp tube closed.
Use the wire clippers or a pair of small sharp scissors and snip the excess wire.
Start stacking on the enamel beads.
Play around with color patterns and sizes!
When you've reached the desired length, add on another crimp tube. Then the wire guardian. Slip on the 2nd half of the S-hook closure and then push the wire through the top of the same crimp tube. Pull tight.
Crimp the crimp tube. And trim the excess wire.
You're necklace is ready to wear!

Hi! Love all your jewelry DIYs so much. Just bought a ton of beads to make some new baubles. I love your charms in your gold necklace. Looks like an evil eye, a heart?, and maybe a zodiac sign. Would you mind telling me where you got those charms from? Thanks so much.
