Grounded in craftsmanship, comfort, and timeless design, Birkenstocks are made to be worn hard and loved deeply, adapting to your feet, your routines, and the way you move through the world. Ariel, of Ariel Gordon Jewelry, and I have been lifelong fans of the brand, drawn to the way Birkenstocks balance function and design and loving how they only get better the more you live in them. So you can imagine how excited we were to team up again to create a rope kit exclusively for Birkenstock, inspired by the idea that the things you wear every day should feel personal, expressive, and a little playful.
With four vibrant paracords and an assortment of colorful beads, the kit was designed to invite experimentation - whether you’re making bracelets, anklets, phone lanyards, or even better, adding flair to your Birkenstock clogs. I'll show you a way to tie a secure bow with paracord, a bright addition to the Boston or Tokio. Tie it on, switch it up, and make it your own!
You'll Need
- Birkenstock x HWTF x Ariel Gordon Jewelry Rope Kit
- scissors
- lighter
Start by cutting 20-24" of cord and threading half of it through the top of your Birkenstock clogs.
Cross the left side in front of the right.
Tie into a knot.
Now create two bunny ears and cross the right "ear" in front of the left. It's important to note that if you to tie in opposite directions: left in front of right, then right in front of left (or vice versa).
Instead of tying the ears into a knot as you would to tie a normal bow, you'll take the right ear along with the tail and flip it forward and push it through the opening.
Now take the left "ear" and along with the tail, you'll flip it back and push it through the opening...
Pull gently on both loops at the same time to tighten the bow.
You'll end up with a bow with two parallel loops.
Adjust by pulling the loops or the loose ends until everything feels snug and balanced.
Repeat the same step with an optional second color.
Tie your bow and tighten.
Make sure the ends of your cords are cut and melted with a lighter so they don't fray. Thread on your beads and finish each cord with a single knot.
Trim the ends...
Carefully burn the ends with a lighter so they don't fray. And voila, you're done!
