While living in Spain, I was once told by a beautiful Spanish gypsy that a woman’s body was meant to dance. She swore that 10 minutes of dancing a day would wipe away any sadness. Her words of wisdom have resonated with me until this day and I can’t help but think of her when I see these beautiful and joyous paintings by Louise Tidd.
This makes so much sense. I always feel a rush of endorphins when dancing, especially when I abandon all fears about how I look 😉 Beautiful pictures!

those illustrations are so gorgeous! she really captures the bliss and beauty of women dancing. i do zumba classes once a week and no matter how much i didn’t want to go to class, i always feel incredible and happy after dancing for an hour <3shelby

Yes I’ve often heard this being said and I totally agree. I can almost hear the jazz music in the background just looking at these paintings of ladies dancing – they look so alive! Love your blog and the photos you share.
Shall be following you 🙂

One day I’d love to hear about how and why you lived in Spain, one expat to another…

Just looking at these wipes away sadness. Joyous is definitely the word! Ms. Tidd’s use of only a small amount of color helps the observer bring the rest of the painting to full color life with her imagination. I’m an instant fan. Thanks for sharing!

There are very few opportunities to dance where I live, and fewer people who know how… so I often just turn on my iPod at midnight and dance around in my room by myself… it sounds silly, but it really does make me feel better! These paintings are very beautiful too!
I’d like to have the one on the right in the middle row on my livingroom wall! <3
So true and good to hear! Sometimes I dance when I’m getting dressed in the morning – reminds me to be joyful & not to take myself too seriously!
wow, that’s a really cool story. i’ve always wanted to go to spain! and fantastic artwork!
Absolutely brilliant and beautiful!
Love this!
