It’s Thanksgiving morning and the first thing I did was whip up one of my favorite holiday recipes . . . spiced nuts. I can’t quite remember where I first found the recipe but I make them year after year as they are insanely easy, utterly delicious, and the perfect compliment to those pre-dinner cocktails. I promise you’ll love them – you might even have the ingredients and enough time to make them today! xx
You’ll need:
- 1 lb mixed nuts
- 3 tablespoons of fresh rosemary
- 1 teaspoon of cayenne
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 1 tablespoons kosher salt
- 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Toast nuts for about 10 minutes on a cookie sheet. The nuts can burn very easily, so be sure to stir several times during the cooking process. Mince the rosemary and combine with the rest of the dry ingredients in a small bowl.
Melt the butter in the microwave in a separate bowl and mix in the dry ingredients. Meanwhile check on the nuts and pull them out of the oven when they’re golden brown.
Put the nuts into a mixing bowl. Pour the spiced mixture over the nuts – and let the sizzle and aromas overwhelm you! Toss well and let cool before transferring it to a serving bowl.
I dare you to have just one. Do you have any signature holiday recipes?!

Looks amazing and actually can be quite healthy if you don’t eat the whole thing like I probably would! But what do I know definitely not being skilled in the kitchen and really only knowing luxury fashion. 🙂 Thanks for the pointers – I will do my best in the kitchen to recreate with this post by my side!

Oh I wish mixed nuts weren’t so insanely expensive here in Tokyo! But who am I to talk,I have never celebrated Thanksgiving anyway, neither here in Japan nor in my home country Germany. It’s really a big deal in the US, though, isn’t it?

Thanks for making nutritious diet delicious.
I love the idea, sounds delicious….but there’s something about butter, especially melted that totally grosses me out. So…my question is…may I replace it maybe with some olive oil or any other kind of oil??? C.
I cannot wait to eat these!

I made these the day you posted! They turned out really nice but I had to cook them a bit longer. I think I may have gone a bit overboard checking they hadn’t burned! Delish.
I tried it! Delicious! I am following you since about a year… I love your blog, especially your DIY always beautiful. What a sense of colour! I get a lot of inspiration and emotion from your work. Thanks!
