How incredible are these paper relief sculptures from artist Cheong-ah Hwang? Each piece is so dynamic and intricate, it’s easy to get lost in them.
Madewell Fall 2014
Styling lesson #1: Pair a midi skirt with a cozy sweater and a pair of oxfords. Elevate it with a layering of necklaces and of course, a plaid shirt tied around the waist. Lesson #2: Sweatpants and checkered Vans can be synonymous with ‘cool’ with the addition of a leather appliquéd sweater and a two tone car coat. Margaret Howell
Photographer Koto Bolofo, one of my personal favorites, worked with designer Margaret Howell once again for ‘The Shoe’ campaign. Black and white photos focus on timeless style and quality crafted shoes, all while praising the manufactures and showing the labor of love that goes into each shoe. I would take any of these photos and hang them on my wall – you can’t say that about too many campaigns. Koto is brilliant at what he does.
A Month In The Maldives
You might remember our feature on artist Zaria Forman, whose incredible photorealistic series of Greenland captured our hearts. Her journeys recently led her to the Maldives, which inspired her to put pastels to paper, focusing on the rising sea levels in the lowest-lying country in the world at the hand of climate change. It’s hard to imagine one day such pristine beauty could be gone forever.
Magnolia Antic
I think I just stumbled across Barcelona’s best kept secret: Magnolia Antic, an oasis for vintage wares, home accessories and most impressively, a collection of gorgeous clothing. I’m obsessed with the ease of the linen, silk and cotton separates and just adore the impeccable styling. It’s at the top of my shopping to-do list when I visit in September!
