Currently Crushing On: Lucite Wicker Bags

My obsession with straw bags has evolved over the last year. First, it was simple straw satchels. Then, it was souvenir straw totes, And now, wicker box bags with lucite details have consumed me! This post is actually a cry for help as I’ve fallen down a deep rabbit hole, scouring the web for these vintage treasures and feeling the need to have them all. I just love how the lucite and bakelite elevates an otherwise simple woven bag. And you can actually find most of them in mint condition for no more than $60! Check out my favorites below and please, snatch them up before I do.

As beautiful as these are I have to admit have begun to stop buying bags I cannot carry on my shoulder. I need my hands to be free for my keys, cel phone and whatever it is I am carrying.

  4. I too have a handbag problem and am particularly tempted by retro styles. You’re right; the lucite and Bakelite are what make these!

I have been crushing on these too! The wicker gives you the feeling of a country picnic, but the lucite makes it city appropriate. It’s a great go-anywhere bag for spring, and I love the vintage vibes.

Oh wow! I love the second bag so much! There’s something about a wicker bag that makes you feel incredibly chic in a vintage Italian film way, and also like you’re on a vacation. I have yet to purchase one, but my sister-in-law lives in hers! It brings such a great texture to an outfit too!
