Cozy in Babaà

When it comes to purchasing sustainable knitwear, the best thing you can do is to purchase pieces that are made entirely from one material, like wool. Knits can be especially sustainable because they are inherently low waste without much scraps to discard. This is why I continue to crush on and support Babaá, a family-run Spanish knitwear label that prides itself on artisanal design and sustainable production practices, by sourcing only from local providers and by supporting the local textile industry. I love the one-size-fits-all silhouettes - perfectly oversized and loose fitting. The amount of thought and careful consideration invested into their sustainable practices is impressive. Wool is sustainably harvested from sheep in Northern Spain whose shepherds follow an age old practice of humane pastoralism. The cotton is harvested from the south of Spain and strictly following regulations avoiding water waste and excessive pesticides. A brand to support and get cozy in for sure . . .

Oversized sweaters started a couple of years ago and looks like they will continue making into fashion for a few more years.
