Moncler 1 Pierpaolo Piccioli

I'm floored. I'd have to think real hard about the last time I was this wowed by a collection . . . correction, a pure work of art. Let me give you some background. You see, in an effort to reinvent Moncler, chairman and creative director Remo Ruffini recently relaunched the luxury Italian sportswear label with the "Genius Group" - a series of 12 collaborations with an impressive designer roster that includes Simone Rocha, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Hiroshi Fujiwara, and Richard Quinn. So now that you have a little background, let's just jump right into the brilliance that is Pierpaolo Piccioli who stole the show with his sophomore collection under Moncler's Genius project. This year, he reached out to friend, model and designer Liya Kebede for inspiration. Ethiopian artisans behind Liya's sustainable and socially responsible label Lem Lem became the catalyst behind the traditional graphics, patterns and colors of the voluptuous down puffer gowns, shirts and coats. Just wow, right?! I can't help but feel so delighted to witness fashion take such huge, bold leaps. Honestly, WTF.
