W Vieques Island

The talented Patricia Urquiola has put her stamp on the brand new W Hotel Vieques Island, designing the hotel from top to bottom. Vieques is one of the Spanish Virgin Islands in the southeast coast of Puerto Rico, known for its azure-colored waters and white sands. Lounging in colorfully woven day beds after a day of exploring an unspoiled island would be all kinds of awesome.

It is amazing, I have been lucky enough to spend several visits there and plan on many return trips. For the record, “The Spanish Virgin Islands” is correct. They include all three Puerto Rican islands. They have also been known as the Passage Islands. Most tourist and historic references use Spanish Virgin Islands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Virgin_Islands
