It’s like the cap trend, but with sleeves. I saw this over-the-shoulders look all over NYFW but didn’t feel my coats were the right style for it. I’m still iffy on it. Hmm.
These ladies just want to show off their clothes which otherwise would be covered up by their coats, hahaha! This is not practical at all but nice to look at
I’ve noticed people doing that more and more. I’m not sure how they manage, anytime I’ve tried that my coat just ended up on the ground.

So bored of seeing this trend, it’s so impractical. If I could pick every jacket off someone’s shoulder during fashion month, I’m pretty sure I could fill a empty walk in closet.

It’s such a great thing wearing your coat like this, especially when it;s not freezing cold! (other wise even if you wanted, you couldn’t) Your hands feel so free!

uh yes I love street fashion! its intimidating but also inspiring and this has totally been a street style fashion you wont go with out seeing especially this and last season. I personally feel its quite lovely! haha
I really like this way of wearing jackets – it’s funny how some trends don’t have to do so much with what is worn as how one wears it. I especially like the first, orange purse, striped sweaters, and baseball cap photos.
I’m with Nina and Tina. I love your blog but WTF indeed with this look. I have seen it on a couple of fashion blogs, I just don’t understand how wearing a coat over your shoulders (impractical) can be a new fashion statement. For some reason the very idea winds me up something rotten! Sorry just needed to get that off my chest.
All those people are doing that nowadays, it’s stupid. If you want to show off your clothing underneath, just don’t wear your coat, you’re cold anyway. If it’s Fashion you MUST do it, right?
I love the look, but how do their jackets stay on? It’s not a look that is practical for my everyday life.
