Valentino At The Ballet

Posted by on

We can all thank Sara Jessica Parker for her idea of a collaboration with Valentino to design the costumes for the New York City Ballet‘s Fall Gala. 16 original designs were handcrafted with breathtaking couture details and pops of the designer’s signature red underneath voluminous tulle and organza tutus. Black and white was the main color palette and of course, each of the ballerinas were outfitted in ruby red pointe shoes . . . Valentino style.

It was a wonderful idea. I bet the ballerinas loved wearing couture!

Beautiful, but it’s a shame that the 1 picture that shows all the completed dresses is in black and white. None of the “pops of color” were shown in their completed stage.

I could just die! Now I’m a bit upset that I didn’t pursue my dream of joining the company at NYCB.. pipe dream? No way!

Performing swathed in Valentino? Definitely dreaming.

Perfect and beautiful. Perfectly beautiful. Beautifully perfect.
