Mojave Desert

Posted by on

In October I made my first trip out to Joshua Tree, and it’s amazing surroundings, to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and our dog Gordos. In just 3 days and 2 nights we hiked Joshua Tree National Park, camped in Jumbo Rocks, made a quick stop at the World Famous Crochet Museum, experienced glamping at the Hicksville trailer park hotel, and ended the trip with a visit to the glorious Salvation Mountain. Apparently Leonard Knight, the man behind this colorful mountain, has recently become sick and there has been talk of his life’s work being torn down. Though I’m not a religious person, I can appreciate his artistic dedication.

I live ten minutes from JT! It’s beautiful, and if anyone ever gets the chance they should definitely take a trip! Don’t wait until summer though, because it gets really hot during the day to hike. The night sky will blow your mind!
