Hwy 1

Earlier this spring I went on a roadtrip along Highway 1, halfway to San Francisco from LA, to Cambria. I loved driving through vineyards, rolling green hills covered in wildflowers, farms, untouched beaches filled with elephant seals, and of course, exploring the legendary Hearst Castle. With its spectacular and picturesque views, Highway 1 is something everyone should see for themselves.

  8. HWY 1 is always such a great roadtrip — always one of my favorites! The 395 all the way down to Death Valley (I think it’s the 190?) is super gorgeous and super underrated. If you haven’t been, you should totally go.

making me a bit homesick for my years in santa barbara. We tookhighway 1 all the way to Oregon – once. TOok more than 30 hours, and my back went out, but sleeping on a tiny peninsula to the constant barking of seals, and the early morning drive up by Goat Rock and the Russian River Valley were TOTALLY worth it. North Marin at sunrise is, officially, my favorite stretch of road, ever. And there is NOTHING like the smell of the sequoias. Best, sweetest evergreen scent ever. hands down.
