A Kanon Midsummer

Last Friday, our friends at Kanon Vodka and the über talented Jeremy Scott hosted an intimate luncheon at the Sunset Marquis in celebration of Midsummer. It was the sunniest and most gorgeous day in LA for DIY-ing flowers crowns (lead by yours truly) and enjoying a delicious three-course Swedish lunch paired with even more delectable cocktails (hellllo Gazpacho Bloody Mary)! We couldn’t think of a more festive way to celebrate the arrival of our favorite season. Thankfully, Kanon is continuing the celebration through the end of July with their fabulous Midsummer Facebook Contest, where you’ll also find directions on how to make your own summer flower crown. Winning is as easy as liking, picking and sharing! Easy peasy.

  3. The floral crowns are so pretty. This would be a really cute idea for a friend’s birthday party. It would definitely make the birthday girl feel special. =)

    Beautiful!

when i was younger i went to Sweden for the summer with my friend and we lived with a swedish family and they taught us how to make flowers head pieces for your hair. I think we went and picked huge daisies from the field and then came home and made them.
i think they are so sweet, and every once in a while i get the itch to make one!

    love the photos!

I have been coming to Sweden each summer over the past few years, and Midsommar is just such a fun event! Who doesn’t love wearing and making Midsommar crowns, eating sill with new potatoes, dancing around the maypole, “snaps” of aquavit, and drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol!? Safe to say that it is definitely one of my favorite holidays :]
