Tank Girl

Honestly, I love (I mean LOVE) soft and semi-sheer tanks and tees from Alexander Wang and Kain just as much as you do.  But it only takes buying a few $80 tanks before the guilt starts settling in.  I recently found and stocked up on amazing tanks from Tilly’s that look, wear and feel so similar!  For $12 each, I’ll be wearing my new tanks all summer long….guilt free.

Clockwise from top left: Alexandar Wang Tank $74, Kain Pocket Tank $86, Full Tilt Tanks $11.99

Update 5/31: Just saw that Oak carries a version of the Kain pocket tank for $44, in case you were looking for something more sheer.  That’s still half the price of the original!

Quartz Crystal

Last night I saw Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros perform at The Fillmore SF, which is the inspiration for today’s post: quartz crystal. I’ve always been so fascinated with this stunning mineral but not so much for its healing properties but rather, for its complex structure and evolution.  Quartz is the most common mineral in the Earth’s crust and is formed naturally from the silica which collects within the cracks and veins of rocks like sandstone and granite…cool, right?

Thong Song

Honestly, I own over 100 pairs of Hanky Panky underwear.  That’s a lot of cash–at $18 a pop–considering I just discovered that Walmart carries the identical thong for only $3 a pair.  And trust me, they look, feel and wear exactly like the original.
