Rike Feurstein abandoned her corporate job as an attorney and dedicated herself to the nearly extinct art of hat-making. She studied millinery in New York and London before opening her eponymous atelier in Berlin back in 2006. Her designs are clear, clean, and minimalistic, often with a sculptural quality. I have been a fan of her hats for a long time, but I am loving her knits right now.
In 2008, my friend Tamar Wider and I started an accessories company called The 2 Bandits. Inspired by our appreciation for the Southwest, our years living in New York City, and our love of boots, the idea behind Bandits was spawned during an effort to add life and versatility to any wardrobe: by dressing up your favorite pair of boots. A year later, we introduced a line of boot harnesses called Riders and this season, we’ve added a collection of colorful leather tassel bag charms to the mix. After all, isn’t accessorizing the best way for a woman to set herself apart from the rest of the birds? Hope you enjoy our new video!
