There is something so mesmerizing and oddly palatable about Texan artist Mark Lovejoy‘s photographs. His process involves mixing paints, resins, oils, waxes, diluents, and drying agents to create fluid marbled imagery – but how does it all get so beautifully glossy and surreal?!
How befitting that International Women’s Day fell in the middle of Paris Fashion Week. This season, strong and powerful females were celebrated with sanguine and confident collections – full of ingenuity and occasionally, a bit of lighthearted humor. Women, so hot right now!
Chloé: The folksy standing that Chloé is beginning to manifest is a nice departure from the blushing french woman that was embodied for so long. Penny Lane’s dream wardrobe seemed to be the end goal, using shearling, heat to toe denim and flowy maxis affixed with strappy vests to paint the entire ’70s picture. Patchwork, wide leg corduroy, and floor sweeping coats along with astounding leather accessories was an easy ticket to get us humming Dreams.
Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana are masters at exuding that aspirational gioia di vivere. This season, they charmed us once again by celebrating the Italian famiglia with mamas confidently walking down the runway with short tunic shifts and midi dresses sweetly embroidered with red roses and children’s drawings. Of course it wasn’t all without an abundance of spectacular, swoon worthy accessories like bejeweled plexi box handbags, pumps with lipsticks embedded in the heel, crystal covered headphones and heirloom brooches nestled in the hair. Oh mamma mia, the brooch adorned headbands! We simply couldn’t resist trying our hand at recreating the headbands – the quintessential Dolce & Gabbana hair accessory.

Raul Lemesoff is best known for his Weapon of Mass Instruction, a 1979 Ford Falcon that has been transformed into a 900 book roving library resembling a military tank. The Argentinean artist and activist drives his highly symbolic tank across the country collecting and giving away free books . . . spreading peace by way of reading. Awesome.
Our crush on Self Portrait soldiers on with designer Han Chong’s spring collection. His pieces are so distinctive and unique – we love the combination of contrasting textures and super feminine silhouettes. It’s hard to believe that his silk sweatshirts, three dimensional appliquéd tees and structured lace midi dresses are so affordable considering the obvious care in design and construction. So good you almost want to keep this best kept secret all to yourself!
