You may have noticed by now, I love fashion illustrations. They combine my two favorite things: fashion and art. So after discovering the amazing work of Liselotte Watkins, it was love at first sight. Her unique style was first noticed by Barneys, who hired her to illustrate beauty ads every Sunday for The New York Times. Since then, she has worked with some of the biggest names in fashion such as Elle, Vogue, The New Yorker, Miu Miu, H&M, and Anna Sui. Lisolette’s ladies are confident, sassy, and whimsical . . . so inspiring!
Built with Swiss quartz movements and Italian sailcloth straps, these sporty, handsome, and dive-inspired watches from Skywatch have us actually showing up on time these days. Not only do they deserve credit for keeping us stylishly punctual, the Southern California based company gives back to the community by donating timepieces to charities and forming partnerships with a select group of non-profit organizations. We are such huge fans that we’ve partnered with Skywatch to give away a 3-hand watch or chronograph, of any size and color, to one lucky reader. Simply leave a comment below, follow Skywatch on Twitter or like them on Facebook, and a winner will be selected at random on Monday, February 27th. (Sorry, limited to US & Canada residents only. Color selection subject to availability. Winner will be announced and contacted by email. Good luck! xx) *** Contest is now closed. Congratulations to Angie N!
Striking prints, imaginative uses of color, and geometric “crossing lines” were the captivating highlights of the Peter Pilotto collection. Inspired by recent trips to Asia, Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos created patterns based on Japanese light trucks and Chinese opera masks. The flouncy hemlines, arm warmers, cut-out details, peplum jackets, blue velvet accents were so uniquely and wonderfully feminine. It’s no wonder the talented design duo won the British Fashion Council’s Best Emerging Talent Award in 2009.
Traveling the world in search of recycled textiles, precious stones and ethical leather, the husband and wife duo behind Stela9 have created a line of vibrant and gorgeous handcrafted handbags. My inner wanderlust is jonesing for each and every one – especially the weekender bags! Today, their online store officially launches and as usual, a portion of all proceeds are returned to the communities and skilled artisans that have contributed to these bags. Honestly, cool.
