Around The Campfire

Fall is my favorite time of year for escaping to the great outdoors. Last fall I camped at Joshua Tree and this year, I am planning a trip to the Kern River. What’s better starting your day with adventures by way of hiking, boating and fishing and then sleeping under the stars? And let’s not forget roasting marshmallows, telling campfire stories, and most importantly enjoying each others company in the wild. I don’t know about you, but the great outdoors is calling my name.

Lost in Time

Far off the tourist path in Southern Morocco is a small market town called Taroudant. The town is surrounded by an ancient rampart wall and has no chain hotels, no stop lights. It retains that unexplainable feeling of the small caravan trading outpost it was in the 16th century. Eclectic and artsy expats have created some of the most stylish homes here like French interior designer and rug-importer François Gilles, who has the most insanely beautiful turquoise herringbone tile in his home. Meanwhile Belgian decorator Christophe Decarpentrie and partner Abel Naessens own four homes in Taroudant. FYI, I make a great houseguest.
