It’s pretty impressive to see how a set of old office spaces have been restored and transformed into interior designer Soledad Suárez de Lezo‘s elegant Madrid home. I’m in love with the industrial steel windows, deco floor tiles, intricate moulding, and vibrant accoutrements. It’s fabulously eclectic (check out the set of rhinoceros feet on the coffee table) and wonderfully luminous!
I’ve got a problem. I can’t walk out of a fabric store without at least purchasing a handful irresistible notions: fancy rhinestone buttons, delicate lace trim, multi-colored embroidery floss . . . I can go on. So what to do with all the random, yet wonderfully sparkly, buttons I seem to have collected over time?! DIY a handful of bracelets, of course. Inspired by Shourouk‘s crystal wristlets, I’ll show you how I made my own version with the trusty ol’ macrame technique.
Inspired by a young woman’s journey through love, Prabal Gurung has created an 80-piece collection for Target that is right in line with his brand. I’m most excited for the bright floral prints in romantic silhouettes as well as the delicate sandals and heels. And how apropos that the collaboration launches right before Valentine’s Day. Love will truly be in the air!
Shawn Huckins, a Denver based artist, mimics the exact proportions, font, layout and hues of paint cards found at every home improvement store. His Paint Chip Series explores color choices and their meaning in our everyday lives. It just goes to show how people can find inspiration and beauty in the most mundane items.
