Mojave Desert

In October I made my first trip out to Joshua Tree, and it’s amazing surroundings, to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and our dog Gordos. In just 3 days and 2 nights we hiked Joshua Tree National Park, camped in Jumbo Rocks, made a quick stop at the World Famous Crochet Museum, experienced glamping at the Hicksville trailer park hotel, and ended the trip with a visit to the glorious Salvation Mountain. Apparently Leonard Knight, the man behind this colorful mountain, has recently become sick and there has been talk of his life’s work being torn down. Though I’m not a religious person, I can appreciate his artistic dedication.

DIY Holiday Gift Wrap

Presents are purchased, gifts are DIY’d, and the only thing left to do is to wrap, wrap, wrap. Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2013

Tory Burch‘s pre-fall collection was inspired by a single military coat, which once belonged to her mother, that Tory has been wearing for years. From there, it was all about pairing the coat with details such as cotton fringed hemlines, oversized rhinestones, embellished floral patterns, and ethnic-inspired weavings.  The collection is stunning yet understated in it’s muted and grounded color pallet.
