The braid train has continued on it’s twisty path from New York to London and we couldn’t love the hair craze more. Loose and messy, single plaited dos were finished off with a tiny braid, wrapped around a set of side swept bangs at Holly Fulton. And the only other addition to two tone lips were rounded tortoise sunnies. Peace, love and all around happiness.
There’s nothing quite as marvelous and essential as costume jewelry – especially when it borders on ‘over the top’ with exorbitant amounts of sparkle and shine. As I always like to say: more is more is more. So how can one possibly turn down the opportunity to customize their very own show-stopping, Verdura-inspired crystal pendant necklace!? Not I. The designing duo behind Peter Pilotto is best known for their feminine yet striking digitally printed wears. Peter Pilotto is focused towards textiles and prints whereas Christopher De Vos concentrates more on silhouettes and draping. Flared sleeves on blouses, exaggerated peplum tops, heavily beaded skirts, skinny graphic trousers, and cutout dresses with pockets in the boldest of colors are definitely not for the wary. And we love every bit of it!
I’m loving these paint smudged photographs from Paris-based artist Leslie David. The colorful and thickly applied gouache is an interesting contrast against low res editorial scans and grainy vintage prints. Leave it to Diana, of Miss Moss, to find an unexpected correlation between Mara Hoffman‘s spring collection and Maria Primachenko‘s folk art. Mara’s bright and bold Polynesian prints stand up seamlessly to the Ukrainian artist’s colorful and exuberant paintings. Wonderful job, Diana!!
