Believe it or not, what look like photographs of microscopic moss or trees laid against a snowy landscape are actually aerial shots of dried up, spiny rivers in Baja California, Mexico. The images, taken by photographer Adriana Franco for National Geographic, capture nature’s most wondrous beauty.
While perusing Pinterest one evening, I came across an intriguing tutorial on the wonderful art of needle felting. I had to learn more – especially after realizing it entailed repeatedly stabbing a needle up and down into a piece of fabric or sweater. A satisfying stress reliever that results in something wearable? Sign me up. And now that I can officially call myself a needle felting maven (and nerd), trust me when I say that you’re going to have a blast with this technique. We’re loving April May‘s follow up to their fall collection, which coincided with the French label’s US debut. Designer Diane Goldstein Sitbon‘s inspiration comes from her travels. “My woman has moved from Paris to Santa Fe and Austin. She has gone on a road trip and is still wearing leather and sexy hot pants and feminine dresses and would wear boots everywhere.” Indeed, the April May woman is feminine and effortlessly sexy.
