As the Editor In Chief of HoenstlyWTF and HonestlyYUM, I’m constantly searching the web for interesting topics and most importantly, exceptional images. Tracking down beautiful and compelling imagery is essential to creating great content! And since I’m accustomed to using Google for most all of my online searches, I was skeptical yet curious to do a blind test to see if which search engine would actually win the Bing versus Google challenge. The test was simple as all I had to do was enter 5 search topics, pick the search results I liked best, and then wait to find out just who won the search test. I think you might be just as surprised as I was to discover the results!
1. Fishtail braids
2. Vintage classroom maps
3. DIY bracelets
4. Chocolate chip cookies recipe
5. Cloche hats
And the results? Drumroll please . . .
I noticed that not only was I opting for results that provided me with lots of images and results from a variety of sources, but I strayed away from sponsored results. I encourage you to take on the Bing It On challenge and decide for yourself which search engine you prefer!
I’m simply in awe of this Harper’s Bazaar UK editorial, featuring spring’s most glorious florals enveloped in botanical illustrations. I’m definitely going to need to hunt down the May issue, which was published in collaboration with the V&A Museum in London, to add to my inspiration board. Honestly, stunning!
The one thing in my makeup bag that I can’t quite live without, besides mascara, is liquid eyeliner. Even though I have mastered that steady line after years of practice, the right tool makes all the difference. And after trying what seems like hundreds of versions, I’m so excited to have finally found a nearly perfect one: Eyeko’s Skinny Liquid Eyeliner. I love how easy it is to apply and that it’s highly pigmented and practically smudge proof. Is there a liquid eyeliner that you swear by? Do tell!
Embroidered tunics, soft linens, drawstring pants, slit maxi skirts, and cozy layers . . . how does Ulla Johnson know exactly what I want to wear everyday?
After three generations, Repossi Joailliers continues to carry on it’s rich and traditional legacy with Gaia Repossi at the artistic helm of the company. Though she’s influenced the brand with modernity and youth, occasionally in collaboration with tastemakers like Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra and Vanessa Traina, the storied skill of ancient metalsmiths is still preserved in the jewelry. I especially love Repossi’s now iconic yellow gold ear cuff and the use of black gold in some of the Moorish designs – but let’s be honest, I’d settle for any of these timeless gold stunners!
