Hotel San José is a little urban oasis in the heart of downtown Austin and the first lodging concept from hotelier Liz Lambert, who you might remember from El Cosmico in Marfa. What once was an old motor lodge from the 1930‘s has now been transformed into a clean and minimal bungalow-style hotel. Oh, and forgot your swimsuit? Ask the front desk for a Dipster, a disposable bathing suit. Honestly!
Unearthen
We are absolutely smitten with Gia Bahm’s enchanting designs for her jewelry line Unearthen. Her use of raw and organic gemstones and crystals with unique settings sets her apart from so many. I mean, can we talk about the hidden sapphire under the London Blue Topaz ring for example? Sick.
Gucci Resort 2014
For her resort 2014 collection for Gucci, Frida Giannini merged leisure and luxury in the form of lurex kimono gowns, paisley tunics, sheer metallic jumpsuits, and crystal-embroidered pajama sets in all colors of a sultry sunset. The inspiration? Jerry Hall goes to Rio de Janeiro circa 1970. Enough said.
Our Exquisite Corpse
LN-CC is now carrying a limited collection of beaded skulls from artist Catherine Martin of Our Exquisite Corpse. Working in collaboration with the Huichol tribe of Western Mexico, Catherine designs each resins skull using traditional symbols and patterns. The beadwork is incredibly intricate and exceptional – I’d love to own one of these unique pieces of art!
Levi’s + Liberty Of London
It’s no surprise that Levi‘s first time collaboration, for their women’s collection, is a good one. Together, with Liberty of London, they’ve created a capsule collection that includes 15 floral and denim pieces for spring. The garden flower prints were based on Liberty patterns from the 40s and 70s, redrawn with watercolor pencils and put into a repeat design. You’ll find me living in the hooded anorak and the denim trucker vest this summer.
