I recently stopped a girl on the street to compliment her on her ethnic printed jumpsuit. Convinced it was one of a kind, I was excited to discover it was a Novella Royale creation and available to purchase online! Summer ready bells, jumpsuits and dresses . . . I foresee some major credit card damage.
Sunny Gu
I’m so in love with Sunny Gu‘s fashion illustrations. Her unbelievable attention to detail only accentuates the use of ornate textures and wonderful colors. I’m not sure which is more inspiring – the original designs from the catwalk where she finds her inspiration or her watercolor versions?
Sonia Rykiel Resort 2014
Geraldo da Conceicao’s first resort collection for Sonia Rykiel was a true tribute to the French designer’s penchant for knitwear. Pastel knit dresses, pleated skirts and intarsia sweaters were given a très chic lift with biker jackets, giant nylon backpacks, and sky high platform espadrilles. Perfect ensembles for a Parisian outing, n’est pas?
Ancient Greek Sandals
At the top of my summer wish list? A pair of buttery leather sandals by none other than Ancient Greek Sandals. Black, silver or tan – I’ll take all three because I need me some wings!
(Ancient Greek Sandals $185 – $270; available at Shopbop and Net-A-Porter)
Mike D In Brooklyn
Mike D, of The Beastie Boys, is just a normal family man living “the suburban dream in Brooklyn.” Who knew?! His beautiful 3,200-square-foot brownstone is decorated with some surprising and not so surprising details like a crocheted chandelier by Olek, paintings by Kim Gordon, custom toile wallpaper, a mirrored swing from a Rajasthani palace, and an impressive collection of heirloom china. No sleep til Brooklyn, y’all . . .
