DIY Wrap Bangles
After recently cleaning out my jewelry collection, I was motivated to save a much neglected set of brass bangles by giving it a summer-inspired overhaul. And since there isn’t anything some colorful embroidery floss and gold charms can’t fix, this transformation was easily executed with supplies already laying around in my craft closet.
You’ll need:
Cynthia Rowley Resort 2014
Inspired by adventure, Cynthia Rowley traveled to Mexico, Africa and Brazil in search for ideas for prints for her resort collection. Her explorations are evident in the Moroccan-style tunics, kaleidoscope and madras prints, embroidery, and oversized turbans. The combination of all these elements in the styling of the collection is wonderfully over the top, isn’t it?
Las Pozas
Las Pozas is a surrealist garden created by Sir Edward James, a British poet and major supporter of the Surrealist art movement. In 1949 James chose the tropical jungles near Xilitla, San Luis Potosí in Mexico for his garden of Eden. 35 years later, 80 acres of natural waterfalls and pools were dotted with staircases to nowhere, concrete flowers with leaves big enough to walk on, and massive sculptures. He was so passionate about the project that he sold his collection of surrealist art to pay for the 5 million dollar project. Honestly!
Jolies Mômes
There’s nothing like an über romantic collection of French lingerie, made of fine silk and Calais lace, to make my current undergarments feel . . . well, not sexy enough. Merci, Jolies Mômes.
