River Run
For me, summer isn’t complete without a handful of weekend trips to the river. I’ve been visiting the South Fork of the Yuba River, where California gold was once discovered, for over 10 years. A scorching heatwave recently brought me to the river’s pristine waters and deep swimming holes, where I sported my new red Miu Miu sunnies for the first time. They were quite the departure from the usual black framed sunglasses I’m used to but oh, how pretty they looked glittering against the shimmering water! If you decide to make the worthwhile trip to the Yuba, from San Francisco, don’t forget to pack a chic pair of sunglasses, a colorful swimsuit, comfortable sandals, and a small bag for bug spray, sunscreen, water, snacks, and a camera. It’s really all you need to survive an afternoon at the river.
MSGM Resort 2014
Nevermind that Massimo Giorgetti has killed it again with a bevy of explosive prints, let’s talk about the fact that the styling of his resort collection is off the chain! Feminine floral bombers, sporty track pants, groovy tie dye trousers, boyish camo mini skirts and rugby sweaters are juxtaposed to perfection. Want. It. All.
Wonder Bread Men
Polish artist Milena Korolczuk uses slices of good ol’ Wonder Bread to sculpt tiny heads of iconic pop artists and historic figures like Jay-Z, Warhol, Plato, and Lenin. What I want to how she came up with the idea! Honestly, wtf . . .
Oh, Overalls
From my very first pair of Oshkosh B’Goshs to a recently purchased pair of short Current/Elliott overalls, the ever enduring dungaree has always had a place in my closet. But for some, these contentious bibbed trousers should have stayed behind as just a sweet childhood memory. How do you feel about overalls – yay or nay?
