Stylist Lauren Austin Wood was inspired by the many textiles, brought home from her travels, while designing her baseball cap collection for Wax + Cruz. Made from African wax prints, Guatemalan ikat, Italian bouclé and shibori, and with visors of linen, suede and leather, these are not your average caps. I love the Americana!
Nanette Lepore’s Cabin
Kelly Framel, from The Glamourai, recently paid a visit to Nanette Lepore’s Amagansett home and man, is it fabulously groovy! The unrestrained inclusion of color, art (mostly painted by family members) and kitsch add to it’s nostalgic appeal. You can almost imagine all the wonderful memories that must be made, summer after summer, in this charming getaway.
Full Moon Story
Agnes Baddoo
The moment I spotted this Agnes Baddoo leather handbag on TomboyStyle, I had to have it. Never have I purchased a handbag online without seeing or touching it – that’s how much I loved this bag! Handmade in Los Angeles, the Sac 1 was inspired by a 40 year old bag Agnes’s mother used and loved. I cannot wait for this timeless piece to get better with age.

DIY Stenciled Wall
Loomis Dean’s 1957 photograph of Christian Dior’s studio, for Life Magazine, hangs behind my desk on a blank wall. I’ve been looking forward to adding some much needed color and character as a backdrop to this large-scale print, so after spotting a Turkish tulip stencil online, I was inspired to go with a painted pattern. Starting the process was as easy as uploading the print to Glidden® paint’s My Image Inspiration tool, selecting one of many pretty pink palettes, and gearing up for an afternoon of stenciling with paint!
You’ll need:
- flat interior paint (I used Pink Carnation)
- a stencil
- a dense foam roller with rounded ends
- a stippling brush
- painter’s tape
- paint tray
- paper towels
