It’s 2014 and spring has sprung in New York City – what better way to anticipate the flowering season than through the eyes of Giovanna Randall, of Honor. The collection started with strong pointed collars contrasted against black ensembles and paired with intricate lace and floral prints. And it ended with barefoot models, with tiny flowers dotted in their ponytails, skipping joyfully down the runway in ethereal gowns embellished with ruffles and appliqués. Happy times.
This 22,000 square foot eco-friendly home, in Brentwood, California, belongs to none other than Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady. Even with a koi-stocked moat, a lagoon-sized swimming pool and a grandiose loggia, the custom built mansion is tastefully done and has us dreaming of a version for ourselves – only ten times smaller. How fun are these fashion magazine covers so brilliantly electrified by Brazilian interior designer Ana Strumpf? The covers were illustrated as part of an art exhibition in São Paulo earlier this summer. Makes me want to take some colorful markers to those September issues . . .

This California heat wave is summer’s way of telling us it’s here to stay for at least a few more weeks. And that means more time spent outdoors, whether it be at a picnic, concert or backyard BBQ. Since portable folding chairs are a constant must-have for those warm nights, I thought it would be fun to add some personality to them by way of color. Taking Glidden® paint’s My Life, My Color quiz helped me narrow down some bold and bright color choices – I loved each of them so much I might even end up using a couple for future home projects!
