Géométrie de L’mpossible is a photographic art installation – no photoshop was used. French artist Fanette Guilloud paints optical illusions in abandoned spaces and later photographs them from different angles to create three dimensional illusions that would otherwise appear distorted unless viewed from a special angle. Très cool.

Valentino Spring 2014
Valentino has taken bohemian extravagance to a mind blowing level. Inspired by Maria Callas and the Roman Opera, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli produced a collection that was beautiful, grand, and romantic – but honestly, did we expect anything less? Rich fabrics and exquisite craftsmanship was obvious in the folkloric motifs, lavish embroidery, and elaborate lace work. Colors popped against a black palette, embroidered jackets were worn over dresses, and gowns were accessorized with astrological jewelry and scarab adorned flat sandals. What it not to love here?!
DIY Tassel Sandals
Jimmy Choo’s Dream sandals, with multi-colored tassels and decorative coins, came and went before we had a chance to snag a pair this summer. The next best alternative was to DIY them, of course. I recreated these gypset stunners in black, which seemed more suitable for fall. They are so fun to wear and actually quite easy to customize with your own charms and trinkets!
You’ll need:
- a pair of sandals with removable ankle straps
- 6 yards of twisted silk cord or braided suede
- 4 large black tassels
- 4 barrel cord ends
- 4 jump rings
- 4 thin gold coins
- E6000
- pliers
Brows + Buns = Dior
Raf Simons sent bold metallic brows and tightly wound buns down the runway at the Musée Rodin for Christian Dior‘s spring spectacular. Makeup artist Pat McGrath and her team spent the morning bleaching brows before coating them with liquid gold pigment and glitter. While some models wore just the brow, others were given an even more extreme look with the whole eye covered in gold and accented with minty green eyeliner. Hairstylist Guido Palau slicked hair into crisp side-parts, drawing the ends into tight knots at the nape of the neck. Who else is wanting glistening gold eyebrows for a night out on the town?
