If you saw our coat collection, you’d understand why Lauren and I love fall so much. So trust us when we say Emerson Fry makes a damn good coat – her leopard linen wingtip coat from last year is, and forever will be, one of my favorites. Her new collection of gusset coats, parkas, biker jackets and pea coats, all paired with cozy knits and slim fit trousers, is once again classically modern and timeless.
Songbird
My dear friend and talented singer-songwriter Lissie has a new album Back To Forever, which launches today. If you aren’t familiar with her music, let me just tell you that her voice is powerful and her lyrics are moving – enough to inspire graffiti artists Angelina Christina and Gianni Arone to paint a mural of the songbird in Venice, California. I was fortunate enough to witness this work of art come alive, which so wonderfully captures her spirit. Be sure to check out Lissie’s new album and if she’s happens upon your town, I highly suggest you go see her live!
Another Feather
Inspired by life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Asheville-based artist Hannah Ferrara uses traditional metal smithing to create simple and beautiful jewelry. The stackability of the rings and bracelets makes it impossible to just own one.
Locally Grown
Gray kitchen cabinets, white subway tile with dark grout, chevron floors, open shelving, and black accents . . . there several similar characteristics in restauranteur Ali Cayne‘s West Village home with my own, where we are finally wrapping up our 7 month remodel. The renovation process has been demanding but the end is near and the exciting part of designing the interiors has begun. Seeing this charming pad has motivated me to kick into high gear for that final push!
