In 1999, Giuseppe Laviani and his wife Giacomina purchased La Socelière, a 17th-century chateau in the Loire Valley for $500,000. Even after investing another $500,000 to restore the property, they were able to keep it practical and non-stuffy. During the summers, four generations of the Laviani family go shoeless.
Leith Clark x Warby Parker
Stylist, and founder of Lula Magazine, Leith Clark has collaborated with Warby Parker on a collection of five new frames. I love the 60s librarian vibe to them – and of course, Leith’s flawless styling makes each frame that much more adorable. Plus, a percentage of each sale goes to Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation campaign mobilizing American girls to raise awareness and funds for UN programs that provide life-changing opportunities to girls around the world. This collaboration couldn’t have come at a better time as I am in desperate need of a new pair of glasses. So what shall it be – the Willow, Greta or Aurora?

In The Evening
Zara‘s latest lookbook In the Evening is full of inspiration for the holiday season. Cashmere sweaters, sheer black lace, embroidery, and leather jackets are all the usual suspects for the month of festivities. And a slip dress over skinny jeans? I’m taking that one away for sure.
Maddie On Things
DIY Braided Chignon
Turning to ancient Sicily for inspiration, Dolce & Gabbana swept hair up into braided chignons and adorned crowns with flowers and Roman coins for their Spring 2014 show. Romance epitomized. I loved it so much, I turned to my trusty hair stylist Nichole Kreps to help me break down the look. So grab your curling iron and a handful of bobby pins and follow along!
