When my sister, Karen, asked us to partake in making a Gingerbread House as part of her awesome food blog, Globetrotter Diaires, we were stoked. A festive and edible DIY?? Win-win! I had never made a gingerbread house from scratch before and I must say, it was so fun and beyond gratifying. Did you know that the edible witch’s house in Brother Grimm’s Hansel and Gretel started the tradition of gingerbread house making in 19th century Germany? Find out more about the history, recipe and instructions here.

I have an obsession with understanding how things are made, which explains my love for shows like How It’s Made. My most recent obsession is FoodCrafters – a must see if you love artisanal foods! Anyway, this is a neat little video from French skateboard brand Rekiem. It’s beautifully done and really makes you appreciate craftsmanship.
