The Oscars are just a couple days away and and the one question on everyone’s mind is – besides who will win the golden statue, of course – “what will Hollywood’s leading ladies be wearing on the red carpet?!” To keep our anticipation at bay for the moment, London digital media agency Media Run has created an infographic of every winning dress worn by the Best Actress recipient since the first Oscars in 1929. It’s fascinating to see the progression of some of fashion’s most iconic dresses – like Audrey Hepburn in Edith Head, Elizabeth Taylor in Dior, Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph Lauren and Halle Berry in Elie Saab. Will you be tuning in on Sunday evening?
Song Saa Private Island
This eco-luxury escape nestled within the Gulf of Thailand has me itching to return to Cambodia. Song Saa Private Island Hotel sits amongst the Koh Rong Islands, along the untouched area of the Cambodian coast, and boasts 27 thatch roofed villas that each have their own private pool and outdoor bath. Activities like diving, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling and simply relaxing seaside seem perfect just about now . . .
Where I See Fashion
My latest Tumblr obsession is nothing short of amazing. Fashion student Bianca Luini, of Where I See Fashion, brilliantly matches fashion images with art and photography that share complimentary colors, concepts, and shapes. She takes visual inspiration to a whole new level!
Nomadic Fishtails
Inspired by Himalayan landscapes, Etro‘s rugged take on the fishtail braid was something we can’t wait to try ourselves. “I see the models as nomads who’ve traveled the Silk Road from China through Mongolia, Tibet and Nepal, passing through sandstorms and high winds of harsh travel,” said hairstylist Eugene Souleiman, who achieved the rugged look by making sure the hair had lots of texture. Check out The Beauty Department‘s fishtail braid tutorial after the jump for a super easy refresher.
The Art Of The Shoe
Christian Louboutin’s latest campaign has shoes and handbags, from his spring collection, nestled in the works of Van Gogh, Cézanne, Fantin-Latour and Monet. It’s hard to believe the accessories have been photographed as they truly look like they belong in the still lifes!
