Marius Haverkamp‘s Amsterdam kitchen was the original inspiration behind our kitchen remodel. And although our kitchen concept morphed along the way, I still absolutely adore this home. The architect and his wife, children’s clothing designer Emily Gray, transformed a former warehouse into a loft combining industrial elements like brick, concrete, reclaimed wood, steel and glass. It’s airy, masculine, and rugged. Perfect.
Mr. Kate‘s latest collection, titled Ars Magika, is meant to bring out the inner goddess within us all. The ethereal jewelry is enhanced by the debut of Beauty Marks – Kate’s collection of hand drawn gold foils to adorn your face and body – just in time for festival season! The designs are applied like faux tattoos and can be cut up and worn any which way. The gilded brushes are a stroke of genius.
I am loving the work of stylist/designer Lula Aldunate, aka Lulaland. Lula wears many hats, from photo-styling to designing tables, interiors and sets, her work (checkout her pillows and crocheted blankets) incorporates the european and latin sensibility that she acquired while living in Italy and Spain as a young adult. Her series of mandalas, created with vintage fabrics and china, absolutely blows my mind. “Sometimes I just need to do something beautiful, so I take what I have around and make things like this…”
Sisters Alexandra and Louisa Burch have recently launched a sportswear line called Trademark. And it’s good. Inspired by American minimalist design, the 105 ready-to-wear pieces range start out at $34 and top out at $500 and sure to be closet staples. We love the sharp styling and super chic accessories – specifically the handbags and silk scarf fastened around the neck.
