If you haven”t heard of Brock Collection yet, you might want to pay close attention. This new label is reinventing American sportswear and I want just about every single piece from their debut fall collection. Moda Operandi stylist Laura Vassar and her designer partner Kris Brock are aiming to recreate everyday staples with that elevated, unique touch. For example, a full red plaid mohair skirt is given a multi-layered front construction, giving it gorgeous movement and a sense of fluidity. Style it with a billowy silk blouse and a shearling trimmed bomber jacket and yup, we want that look. Sold.
Jennie Kwon Fall 2014
Jennie Kwon is to blame for my addiction to layering the finest of fine jewelry. Ever since I added three of her delicate, diamond and 14k gold rings to my wedding stack, I’ve been hooked on her designs. Über skinny cuff bracelets, dainty necklaces and exquisite rings are encrusted with tiny emeralds, and black and white diamonds – what is not to love?! And it’s only gets better with her latest collection, where Jennie is introducing grey diamonds, opals and blue sapphires in the form of gold and rhodium ear cuffs, chokers, and geometric rings. Honestly, irresistible.
Freestanding Fire
Whether it be a wood burning cast iron stove or a midcentury conical fireplace, there is something so wonderfully charming about free standing fireplaces. I love the exposed pipes and flexibility when it comes to shape and size. Heartwarming . . .
The Wanderers
Cap Rocat
My flight is booked and I’m off to Spain in September! It’s been nearly 14 years since I last visited so I’m beyond excited to return to some of my favorite places as well as explore ones I’ve been dying to experience. Case in point: Majorca. The idea of staying at Cap Rocat, a luxurious retreat which was once a 19th century Spanish fort, makes visiting this large Balearic Island that much more appealing. So much to see, such little time . . . if you have any recommendations, I’m all ears!
