It’s hard not to be entranced by Sydney artist Leah Fraser‘s paintings of an shamans, living in an imaginary world inspired by the many healing methods of different cultures. Each of her characters are decorated in ceremonial attire and armed with ritualistic weaponry and wildlife companions. Each piece is powerful yet serene and haunting yet beautiful.
Let’s talk about jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche‘s collection of ear jackets – 14k gold earring backings, studded with pavé diamonds and that fan out just below the ear lobe. Honestly, brilliant!!! I absolutely love the idea of mixing and matching them with individual studs, making them more or less dramatic. The precious ear jackets can run up to $3,000 but Jacquie has a less expensive, gold plated version available at Shopbop. Obsession is an understatement.
Last weekend, I hosted a tea party themed baby shower for my sister in law, who is expecting a baby girl in July. Aunt Erica has a pretty nice ring to it, don’t you think? I’ve been on a garden roseobsession lately, especially after making those floral letters for Valentine’s Day, so it was a must when deciding what flowers to get for the celebration. Rather than making a floral table arrangement, I decided to whip up a chandelier, made of the most luscious pink and peach roses, voluptuous white peonies and sweet lilacs.
Billowy, boxy, and utilitarian shapes in silk lamé, cottons and georgettes – I adore Electric Feathers‘ entire fall collection. I can’t wait until I’m in New York next month so that I can stop in Leana Zuniga’s new Brooklyn store, Electric Nest, and try on all those eighties inspired jumpsuits. Who doesn’t love a good onesie?
