I never had a treehouse as a child but ever since our son was born, I’ve been looking forward to the day my husband and I could build him a house in the trees. How is this magical trio of treehouses for inspiration?! Atlanta architect Peter Bahouth built three houses, linked by wooden bridges, among the trees in his own backyard. Any child, or adult, would find this absolutely magical!!
Alexandra Grecco Bridal
Brooklyn based designer Alexandra Grecco dreams up the most ethereal and romantic gowns that are just perfect for the non traditional bride. I love that she breaks the notion that one must wear white on their wedding day by offering beautifully embellished dresses in dove grey, pistachio, and mauve. Honestly, breathtaking!
Flat Top, Flat Brim
Perhaps it was Phoebe Philo’s Amish inspired straw hat, or Amy Smilovic’s flat brimmed hat, that has inspired our obsession with flat topped this fall. We love how the crowns of these hats, with their flat brims, sit high above the head. A little less cowboy, a whole lotta cool . . .
Flying Houses
I recently spotted a piece from photographer Laurent Chehere’s Flying Houses series and was instantly inspired to revisit his talent. Photos of urban and suburban Parisian houses are manipulated by being placed high up in the clouds, tethered by power lines. Ordinary structures are suddenly transformed into whimsical and fantastical characters.
Firenze4Ever
I’m so excited to finally share the second half of my style session with Luisa Via Roma during their 9th edition of Firenze4Ever. Nothing quite compares to playing tourist in the history rich city of Florence and playing stylist with fall’s most covetable wares. Just a dreamy experience from start to finish – I honestly can’t wait to return. And if you happen to be traveling to Italy in the near future, be sure to check out my list of must-visit stores in Florence at Conde Nast Traveler.
