Rara Avis

Designer and style icon Iris Apfel’s exuberant and eclectic style is so evidently translated into her New York apartment. Her vast collection of art, her use of bold and bright patterns, and her humorous touches make her design aesthetic incredibly inspirational. One of my favorite pieces is Iris’ Infanta Margarita portrait, which was the first painting she purchased 60 years ago at an antiques shop in Florence.

  3. I used to love Iris a lot until I heard about her stealing jewelry designs from a less famous artist.

Love to look at it here, but I think if I had to live in a place like that my brain would explode. And that would be messy.

  24. Oh wow! I have to admit I probably would go a bit crazy with all that color and pattern, but what a happy place to visit. And I think I need to find that dog butler! 🙂
