Oyyo Nº1

My love affair with rugs began in Turkey with kilims. And now, the obsession continues with India’s dhurries. Sweden designers Lina Zedig and Marcus Åhrén explore new cultures and age-old techniques for creating one of a kind dhurries in their nomadic studio. Each Oyyo dhurrie is handwoven by a group of artisans who live just outside of Jodhpur, India’s blue city, with 100% organic cotton and richly pigmented, vegetable dyes. Honestly, need!

(Oyyo durries can be purchased here)

The pictures themselves are almost as nice as the rugs.
Also whenever I read about these sort of rugs, I think of Kiboots (http://www.kiboots.com/).
I think that’s still the cheapest way to get your hands on one of these beauties, be it in a slightly different form.

The pictures are so magical! I lived in Iran for almost a year and saw how they actually make those carpets. Amazing!

  23. Turkey people use a lot of carpets and actually they are made by Persian people, Afghani and Pakistani people. And yes I loved the first picture I don’t know how you do that but your idea of making a carpet fly is awesome !! really nice post dear blogger xx
