Gift Guide 2016: For The Free Spirit

For the free spirit, a divine, hand poured candle from a small village in France, a set of weighty, ceremonial Ghana beads, a stunning, vintage indigo textile wall hanging and lots and lots of pom poms . . . freespirit freespirit2

Clockwise from top left:

Hope & May Borneo Lamp Shade $100: We love the relaxed vibe of basket lamps. These hand woven rattan basket light shade from Australian based company Hope & May have a beautiful, organic quality to them.

Mad et Len Candles $110: I’m in love with French perfumer Mad et Len. Each candle is hand-formulated in a small village near Grasse, France by a chemist using flowers, wood, spices, and house-aged essential oils. The vegetable wax blends are then hand-poured into blackened iron vessels forged by hand by the town’s local blacksmiths. Each scent is truly incredible.

Michele Quan ceramic bells $75 – $165: Ceramics artist Michele Quan is best known for her handmade bells – each is different and has their own spiritual quality. A perfect gift for someone who might be inspired to start their own collection.

March11 Embroidered Blouse $392: It doesn’t get more bohemian than these Vyshyvanka blouses. Did you know that some garments can take over 3,000 meters of embroidery threads to make and days to complete?

Shashi Tassel Bracelet $40: One for you and one for me.

Beatrice Valenzuela Sandals $230: California cool . . .

Moroccan bowl $28: You really can’t go wrong with any assortment of colorful, hand painted Moroccan bowls. They’ll liven up any kitchen!

Aranaz Pom Pom Earrings $75: Pom poms. ‘Nuff said.

Assouline Rajasthan Style $695: A hefty price tag for that book lover but this special edition version of Rajasthan Style is only one of 100 copies and comes wrapped in a one of kind silk sari.

Love Adorned Vintage Textile $140: Not a bad price for a vintage textile of this color and detail. This one, in particular, is from the Baule people of the Ivory Coast of Africa.

Midcentury Planter $189: There’s no such thing as too many indoor planters for a boho babe.

Indego Africa Peace Basket $48: Indego Africa works with more than 300 artisans across Rwanda who have perfected the art of weaving. These artisans are a part of the Imirasire, Covanya, Ibanga, and Korebu cooperatives and since partnering with Indego Africa, 89% of their artisan partners have risen above the poverty line.

Miwak Junior Ceramic Pipe $80 – $160: Puff, puff, pass in style.

Mara Hoffman x Shop Latitude Spike Bracelet $60: We love the addition of neon to this Indian inspired bracelet.

Figue Pom Pom Slippers $440: We can’t stand chic these colorful pom pom slippers are!

St Frank Ghana Beads $75: A special gift for a special person . . . these glass beads are made by the Ashanti and Krobo people in the Krobo mountains of Ghana and are integral to modern Krobo life. They are used in ceremonies of birth, coming of age, marriage, and death, as well as festivals and parades.

Étoile Isabel Marant Wrap Belt $125: This simple leather belt is a timeless accessory and perfect to wear over those maxi dresses or cozy cardigans.
