Honestly WTF

Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2013

Posted by on

The scene was set for Stella McCartney‘s pre-fall presentation at Americas Society Art Gallery on Park Avenue. While drinking champagne and playing games of Scrabble, models were sketched by artists at easels donning outerwear of exaggerated proportions, patterns of strips and jacquards, well-tailored separates in brilliant color combinations, and colorblocked eveningwear. Effortlessly playful and oh-so minimally chic, the collection indeed addresses the need of every modern woman’s wardrobe. Honestly, so good!

why hasn’t anyone noticed the eerie similarities between that bright orange and purple matching suit and prison uniforms? the unstructured quality is something the prison system uses to dehumanize and depersonalize…odd (and quite frankly very upsetting) that we are seeing THAT trend mirrored in high fashion, no?

Disproportionate sizes seem to be the trend of pre-fall this year! Celine, Carven, Stella, Chloe….they’re all big coats and dresses, but I love them!

I want that brocade suit with the eagle sweater!!!

“Oh yes!!!” Is what came out of my mouth when I opened this page. I’m orange obsessed and happy to see it’s coming back for another year. I love that oxblood and navy are accompanying it too. Such a great color scheme and I love the over-sized silhouettes.
