Castle In The Air

Posted by on

Every holiday season Castle In The Air transforms their extraordinary shop into the most spellbinding Christmas-themed wonderland. If Castle In The Air doesn’t ring a bell, you may recognize their brilliantly colored crepe paper and globally sourced wax in some of our favorite tutorials. It’s where I go occasionally to escape and allow my imagination to run wild – and it’s nearly impossible not to walk away inspired by the love and thought put into each curated treasure. So every year thousands of handcrafted ornaments and vintage decorations are put out on display and a large-scale masterpiece is assembled after several months of preparation. The theme this season is “The Mouse Castle” – a castle made of old violins, an accordion, and everyday household items with over 30 handmade mice, each with their own unique characteristics, living inside it’s walls. Words and images do not do this magical retreat justice. You must see it for yourself. Honestly.

A Silent Manifesto

Posted by on

This past Saturday, more than 300 people took to the streets of San Francisco as part of a silent manifesto in celebration of H&M‘s upcoming collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela. The uniforms are iconic to Maison’s design lab approach. As for the silence? Well, the signs were meant to speak for themselves of course. So what do you say, will you be headed to your nearest H&M on November 15th?

Free People‘s Pet Project, a collection of eco-conscious collars, leashes, beds, and tags for cats and dogs, launches this Sunday in support of Philadelphia’s largest no-kill shelter and foster care network PAWS. The lookbook features rescued and adopted animals sporting bohemian must-haves for your furry friends. And 100% of proceeds from the Vintage Flag Bed, made from recycled and reused materials, will be donated to the non-profit. I, for one, can’t wait to get the beaded collar and the BFF tag for my bulldog!

The Little Black Jacket

Posted by on

The definition of ageless versatility is a black tweed jacket worn over 100 different ways on over 100 distinctly different personalities. Lensed by Karl Lagerfeld himself, and styled by Carine Roitfeld, The Little Black Jacket has his favorite muses wearing the label’s iconic jacket. I’m kicking myself for not visiting the exhibition while it was in Moscow last week and so to make it up to myself, the book is already on order.
